The fourth annual Photographic Portrait Prize has been won by Richard Boll, 29, for ‘Joe’. The £12,000 award was presented at the National Portrait Gallery, London on Monday. His first-prize winning photograph was taken outside his flat on Brighton’s seafront and is the result of a four-minute chance meeting with Joe, a total stranger walking past, who initially did not want to be photographed. After eventually agreeing to the photograph, Joe left Richard Boll and both went their separate ways.

Royal Variety Performance 2006
A host of celebrities and artists from the worlds of music, comedy and theatre will be performing in the 78th annual Royal Variety Performance at the London Coliseum on Monday 4 December 2006 in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. This year the top of the bill will be Rod Stewart, making his first ever Royal Variety appearance.
Prince Joins UK Music Hall Of Fame
Channel 4 has revealed that Prince is the latest artist to be inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame this year. The multi award winning music icon will attend the star-studded live event on 14th November at London’s Alexandra Palace, which will also be transmitted on Channel 4 on Thursday 16 November.
Open For Business: Wags Boutique
ITV2 has confirmed that it has commissioned WAGs Boutique, a brand new 13 part series for transmission in late January 2007. WAGs Boutique will pit ten ‘wives and girlfriends’ against each other in the cut throat world of fashion. They will be divided into two rival teams, each designing and running their very own boutique in a central London location. The WAGs will be overseen by an experienced mentor who will guide the individual teams towards success.
