Unorthodox Book Tops Christmas Chart
As the run-up to Christmas begins, an unusual title has joined the race for this year's holiday best-seller - a book rejecting religion. The God Delusion, by top intellectual and scientist Richard Dawkins, has been almost continuously resting at number one on the leading online retailer's books chart for the past two weeks, defending the position from the many celebrity-fronted titles that were expected to take the top spot in the run-up to Christmas.
Desperate Housewives: The Game
The housewives of Wisteria Lane have arrived on Windows PCs. Desperate Housewives: The Game (available from Amazon) is a lifestyle simulation Windows PC game inspired by the Golden Globe winning ABC-TV series produced by Touchstone Television. In the game, the player takes on the role of a new housewife who moves to Wisteria Lane and unlocks the delicious scandals hidden in the seemingly “perfect” neighborhood.
Continued Growth For BBC Radio 1
BBC Radio 1 has added 248,000 listeners over the past year, according to figures released last week by Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd).
Emma Bunton Goes Downtown
Emma Bunton has recorded the official BBC Children In Need single. Emma will release her own version of the sixties classic, ‘Downtown', on November 20th (available to download from 13th November) and is set to perform the single on the live BBC1 show on November 17th. This is Emma’s first single release since 2004 when she enjoyed three top 10 hits from her gold album ‘Free Me’.
Soap Stars Get Hands Dirty For Charity
The cream of the north’s soap stars, presenters and sporting heroes are set to make their mark in aid of the anti-bullying movement next week when they place a colourful paint-handprint onto a massive 2.1m x1.5m pane of glass in support of Kingfisher’s ‘Hands Up If You’re Against Bullying’ campaign – an initiative designed to raise awareness of the forthcoming Official Anti-Bullying Week.
Beth Nielsen Chapman To Perform At St Paul's
The acclaimed singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman is to perform at St Paul's Cathedral, joined by the London Oriana Choir. The performance will form part of a special Evening Service in the Cathedral on Sunday 19 November, celebrating the work of modern-day peacemakers.

Lostprophets - Arena Tour For 2007
As the band are poised to embark on a sell out tour of the UK, Lostprophets have confirmed their first stadium tour for April 2007. The band will also return to their hometown of Pontypridd for their major first show there with a headlining appearance at The Full Ponty Festival on Saturday 26th May. US shock rockers Aiden will join the band on the stadium shows with further special guests to be announced.
