Delta Air Lines launches new Global SkyMiles store
Delta is launching a new online shopping destination, SkyMiles Store, that is now open for business for global shoppers. The site provides a wide selection of travel-related products such as luggage, luggage tags, passport holders and retail items including apparel, and sports and leisure items, as well as selections from the Medallion Collection.
Travel assured with Emirates and Bupa
Emirates Airline has signed an agreement with leading UK-based insurer Bupa Travel Services to offer customers extra peace of mind when they travel. As of now, travellers managing their Emirates flight bookings online via emirates.com, would be able to opt for travel insurance protection which has been specially tailored for Emirates customers.

Kozhikode prepares for Emirates
Age-old trade ties between Dubai and Kozhikode – a port city in the Southern Indian state of Kerala that welcomed its first Middle Eastern traders as early as the seventh century – are set to accelerate with the launch of Emirates Airline’s six-flights-a-week service, effective 1st July.
False bomb threat on KLM flight from Aruba
During the boarding of flight KL0734 from Aruba Airport Reina Beatrix to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on April 24 at around 21:00 local time, one of the passengers told fellow passengers that he had placed a bomb in one of the onboard toilets. This was reported to the captain, whereupon the passenger in question was immediately arrested and removed from the aircraft, along with his baggage.
Lufthansa boosts services from Milan
Lufthansa is expanding its route network from Milan and in future will offer passengers a much wider choice of flights from the North Italian city to European destinations. In a first step, from the beginning of 2009, six new Embraer 195 jets will be stationed at Milan Malpensa Airport.
Lufthansa introduces boarding via mobile phone
From 28 April, passengers flying Lufthansa from Hamburg to Munich or Frankfurt will be able to use the new mobile boarding pass service. With this innovative service, passengers who have an Internet-enabled phone can be sent an electronic boarding pass by email or SMS link.

Iceland Express offers a healthier option
Airline Iceland Express will from June 1st provide its passengers more choice of food onboard with healthier meals added to the menu. The selection will consist of pasta and salad meals, fruit salad, pizzas and sandwiches.

Lufthansa launches mobile services in UK and Ireland
Lufthansa has chosen the UK and Ireland as a key launch market for its pioneering Mobile Services product. Now, by simply using their mobile phones to access the new portal, mobile.lufthansa.com, passengers can quickly book flights, check in and select their seats on an interactive seat map, even when on the move.
Ryanair submits state aid complaint to EC
Ryanair has called on the European Commission to stop a further €300m of state aid for Alitalia. Alitalia has already received over €5bn in state aid, and Ryanair claims the European Commission is turning a blind eye with flag carriers.

Aer Lingus apologises to customers
Aer Lingus announces that it will offer all of the customers who made bookings during the reservation error of Wednesday 16 April the option to travel in economy class at the price of their original booking.
Air France increases fuel surcharge
Due to the high level of fuel prices, Air France is increasing its fuel surcharge by 2 euros per segment on domestic flights, by 4 euros per segment on medium-haul flights and by 10 euros per segment on long-haul flights.
JFK flights take-off from Gatwick
British Airways is boosting services from London to New York JFK by starting daily flights from Gatwick on Monday October 27, 2008. The new flights mean that the airline will fly 62 times each week from the capital to JFK as the Gatwick flights will operate in addition to 55 weekly flights from Heathrow.
