First Volvo is flagship FH16 for First London Logistics
A Volvo FH16 6x4 150 tonne GCW tractor unit is the first truck to go into service with newly formed Essex-based operator First London Logistics. The company is providing the transport requirements for the First London Group which incorporates First London Environmental Ltd., whose businesses include property development and green waste recycling.
British International Motor Show exceeds Volvo targets

Hallett Silbermann make their mark with new Volvo FH
Hatfield-based haulier Hallett Silbermann recently took part in the annual Cart Marking ceremony in London’s Guildhall Yard when, supervised by Michael Power, Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, with both the Keeper of Guildhall and the current Lord Mayor, Alderman David Brewer CMG in attendance, the company’s new Volvo 150 tonne GCW FH520 8x4 tractor unit was ‘branded’ with a letter signifying the year, together with a vehicle number and the arms of the City of London and those of the Carmen.

Gold medal for Volvo garden at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

Volvo Car Corporation will begin selling cars in India
Volvo Car Corporation has decided to introduce its cars in India, with sales scheduled to start during the fourth quarter of 2006. The new subsidiary, Volvo Car India, will have its head office in Delhi. Volvo Cars will start its product introduction with the Volvo S80 and the Volvo XC90 and the plan is to introduce more models on the Indian market in due course.

First Euro 4 FM’s for Marks & Spencer
Marks & Spencer is one of the first major UK companies to place an order for the latest generation Volvo FM’s with Euro 4 emissions compliant engines featuring SCR technology. The order is for 50 Euro 4 FM-400 4x2 Globetrotter-cabbed tractor units, which will be operated by Gist on behalf of Marks & Spencer and will be in the retailer’s own livery. All were supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre Midlands and have been specified with Volvo’s I-Shift driver-friendly transmission. They will be based at RDCs at Thatcham and Bristol and they will be engaged on store deliveries, supplier collection and trunking.
