Off with their heads - Champagne bar launches Bastille Day promotion
Amuse Bouche Champagne Bars are suspending all sales of Grandes Marques Champagnes in July to celebrate the democratic revolution of Bastille Day. Amuse Bouche Champagne Bars will be launching a new list on July 3rd, focussing exclusively on a range of thirty Champagnes from smaller, lesser-known, producers.
Champagne Philipponnat arrives in Selfridges
The acclaimed Champagne Philipponnat – located in the heart of the Champagne region, in the village of Mareuil-sur-Ay – is now available in Selfridges. One of the largest owners of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards in the region, Champagne Philipponnat is also one of the oldest Houses, with an impressive history dating back to 1522. Considered by experts to be a “connoisseur’s Champagne”, the House is run by the 16th generation of the Philipponnat family, Charles Philipponnat.
Fortnum & Mason sparkles this summer with Camel Valley

Portuguese white wine winners
The Independent Winegrowers’ Association of Portugal hosted a tasting of Portugal’s Top White Wines at the Portuguese Embassy in London. 61 white wines from 51 producers were selected for this event by a panel of wine-writers comprised of Charles Metcalfe, Sarah Jane Evans MW and Portuguese wine journalist, David Lopes Ramos.

The Wine Department of Trade Section of the French Embassy in the UK is to hold a special wine-tasting event entitled British Wine Entrepreneurs in France in central London on Tuesday 22 April 2008. The tasting will feature wine from British-owned and -run vineyards in various regions of France.
