Swedish Crayfish season kicks off at Fifth Floor Café
The official Swedish crayfish season kicks off every year in the second week of August and runs to the end of the month. The Fifth Floor Restaurant and Café’s Swedish Executive Chef Jonas Karlsson, like most of his countrymen, is a lover of this native treat and pays homage to his heritage by introducing a brand new sharing dish to the menu at The Fifth Floor Café during this short but very sweet season.

Walking into the 120 seat al fresco space through the open expanse of Jubilee Square, Zilli’s diners are greeted by beautifully flowing design accented with graceful curves and sparkling crystals.
‘Rasoi’ celebrates successful first year in business
The owners of one of Leamington’s most popular Indian restaurants “Rasoi” have just celebrated their first year in business. Ranjeev and Sharan Atwal, from Leamington Spa, took over the lease of the former Lloyds TSB bank in October 2006. After an extensive refurbishment programme costing tens of thousands of pounds, Rasoi opened at the end of May 2007.

Babur, London’s hardest-working Indian restaurant, is about to celebrate its 23rd anniversary with a tasting menu made to match five exceptional wines. The 23rd baburthday celebration begins 17 July and runs until 31 August.

TV’s Ben Miller to host fund raising event at Fifteen Cornwall
Acclaimed actor and comedian Ben Miller will host a special fund-raising dinner and auction at Fifteen Cornwall as part of the White Stuff Surf Relief Festival. The restaurant’s Executive Chef Neil Haydock has devised a six-course tasting menu for the Friday 25 July event, where Ben Miller will compere an auction to benefit the charities Surf Relief UK and the Cornwall Foundation of Promise. Ben Miller stayed at Watergate Bay last summer while filming ITV’s Moving Wallpaper, the partner show to Echo Beach. He also stars in the BBC1 comedy series The Armstrong and Miller Show.

Chef opens England’s highest restaurant
A restaurant will open for business on top of one of England’s highest mountains on Wednesday 14th May. Local celebrity chef Peter Sidwell will be serving three course lunches on top of Skiddaw in the Lake District on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th of May as part of the Cumberland Ale Keswick Mountain Festival.
